Services

  1. To assist deaneries and parishes in calling forth and discerning ministers for diaconate and lay ministry.

  2. To provide formation and continuing education for clergy and lay ministers.

  3. To assist the diocese, deaneries, and parishes in the development and implementation of pastoral plans.

  4. To empower people of all cultures, races, and abilities to leadership in Church and society.

  5. To provide formation and resourcing for liturgical leaders in deaneries and parishes; and to coordinate diocesan liturgical celebrations.

  6. To assist and resource deaneries and parishes in their responsibility to provide for Adult Faith Formation.

  7. To assist the people of the diocese in developing their global mission awareness and participate in this by prayer, financial support and other means.

  8. To participate in the provincial, national and universal church meetings and organizations when appropriate.

  9. To welcome immigrants and migrants to Northwest Ohio and to facilitate their access to spiritual and social services and to receive their gifts.

  10. To resource deaneries and parishes to ensure equal access to parishioners with disabilities.

Key Results

  1. The people of the Diocese of Toledo accept responsibility for implementing the documents of Vatican II and the Synod of the Diocese of Toledo through pastoral planning in their deaneries and local parishes.

  2. The Diocese and parishes actively call forth and support ministers for service in the local and universal Church.

  3. People called to ministry in the Church are appropriately prepared, formed, supported and challenged to continue their formation.

  4.  All liturgical celebrations of Word and Sacrament in the Diocese are agents of growth and transformation in Christ.

  5. The Diocese and parishes are places of universal welcome where diversity and inclusiveness are visible in both leadership and ministry.

  6. The Diocese and parishes nurture in adults their baptismal call to holiness lived out in the context of family and daily work.

  7. The Diocese and parishes network, resource and support leadership at deanery and parish levels.

  8. Collaborationand communication based on mutual respect characterize leadership at all levels of the Diocese and parishes.

  9. The involvement of Secretariat members and other professionals on the State and National levels impacts the local and universal Church.
