The Office of Hispanic Ministries
addresses the various needs of Spanish-speaking individuals and families who
are working and/or living in the Diocese of Toledo. The Director of the
Office of Hispanic Ministries addresses the needs of the migrant, immigrant
and settled Hispanic households by providing resources to and collaborating
with parishes and pastoral leadership, by linking with church and civic
groups and agencies in addressing advocacy, documentation and naturalization
processes and by connecting various Hispanic individuals and groups. The
Director of Hispanic Pastoral Ministry focuses especially on encouraging
parishes to engage the gifts of their Hispanic members as well as providing
formation in catechesis, small faith communities, sacramental preparation
and leadership formation.

The celebration of the Quinceañera is an important faith
event for young girls turning fifteen in Mexico and some Latin American
countries. It is a celebration to give thanks to God for the gift of life.
Because it is such an important event in the culture, it (has become) is
important for the Church to continue to form the Quinceañera in the faith
and strengthen in her the basic principles of the Catholic faith and
Christianity. The Retreat will prepare the Quinceañera to take the next step
in her life, rooting her faith in Jesus Christ. The retreat is also very
important for the parents and sponsors because it is their responsibility to
reinforce in the Quinceañera the basic principles of the Catholic faith.
La celebración de la Quinceañera es un evento de fe
importante para las jóvenes que cumplen quince años en México y en algunas
partes de latino America. Los quince años son una celebración para darle
gracias a Dios por el regalo de la vida, y es por eso que es un evento
importante en la cultura y asido necesario que la Iglesia continúe la
formación de las quinceañeras en la fe y enseñarles a ellas los principios
básicos de la fe Católica y de los cristianos. El retiro preparara a las
quinceañeras para que tomen su próximo paso en la vida y basando su fe en
Jesucristo. El retiro también es importante para los padres y padrinos
porque son ellos los responsables de recordarle a la quinceañera los
principios básicos de la fe católica.
